Love this piece – I don't think I'd ever go anywhere if it wasn't for my passions; skiing & surfing.

Instead of being a digital nomad, my strategy for the last couple of years has been to go back to the same one or two places for these activities then back again to my "boring" home of ten years. This has resluted in me having friends and being a part of the local community there. So basically, I just have two homes away from home and that gives me all the excitement and flavors to life I need.
